As most others have said, it's not rude. Particularly these days when there's so many general nerdery panels and products sold in the vendor space.

I mean, I live in Ohio. We don't have shit here. It's eight hours to NYCC, and forget SDCC or Dragon*Con. So a lot of our cons have started to become general nerd cons. Ohayocon last year was probably a 65-35 split for anime-other nerd stuff. (i mean, yeah, people complained about it, but come on. Safe spaces for nerds. Make them)
