Huh. Never caught on to this myself, but I've never really been all that interested by Sideswipe and Sunstreaker in general. I guess most folks, like myself, just assumed they were. And that period around All Hail Megatron where everyone got toy-based bodies likely didn't help.

Yeah, it's the little details that separate the canons. Sideswipe vs Side Swipe is my pet peeve. :p

But I could definitely see how easy that'd be to miss, if someone's new to IDW canon. IIRC Sideswipe and Sunstreaker have been related in every single other continuity they appear in together, to suddenly have one where they aren't might not even register on someone's radar. It's even not terribly clear on the TF Wiki if you're just quickly scanning their entries.

Not trying to excuse it though, that's a pretty significant detail to distinguish that canon and if someone's writing a strictly canon fic they should know better.

What do you mean that those two were never anything like the Weasley Twins to begin with?

All twins are the Weasley Twins.

And the Lambo Twins must be inserted into every canon ever. Never mind whether or not they fit. Never mind that their characterization is 110% pure fanon.
