Eh. I don't like to think someone's not getting work because of their political affiliation unless they're unspeakably obnoxious about it. It's not fair. Anyway, let's not feed the conservative Hollywood-related persecution complex.

But if they are out of work, I hope they suffer from the lack of social services they voted for.

It's not always that simple. In the end you get to vote for a limited number of people, so you have to vote who best fits what you want. Even if you disagree with some things. I voted for Obama and I don't agree with everything he says or does.

The person above me has a good point. But also, something being where it's needed when it's needed is the surest way to encourage someone to reconsider an opinion. Making them do without it in no way encourages people to be more sympathetic to those who are in that unfortunate position after they've clawed their way out of it. If anything, there's a 'I survived on my own and you should too' mentality.

Plus, it's just really vindictive and petty to hope someone suffers terribly because they don't agree with your ideology.

Actually, it's more hoping someone suffers the consequences of the terrible thing they helped cause by supporting the people who instituted it. But you're right, it would be more effective in the long-term if they benefit from things the people they supported haven't been able to destroy yet.

AYART Still neither classy nor worthwhile in the long-run.

na

but feels oh-so-good in the moment.

Really? You're hoping people don't have to face the consequences of the system for which they voted? How odd.
