I've had housecoats since I was six. They're for warmth and comfort, not exclusively old ladies. (But if it bothers you that much, maybe you could look into getting a kigirumi/footie onesies instead? I've seen a bunch of really cute ones with bright patterns in stores like Stitches and Urban Planet this season, so I'm guessing they'd be fairly easy to find.)

It didn't bother me so much until I I went to Amazon to buy it and saw that most of the reviews were like "I bought this for my 90-year-old mother," "I bought this for my 80-year-old grandmother." But this comment makes me feel better.

The kirigumi is a good idea too.

Me too! Okay, maybe not since I was six, but I know I wore them during my teen years. Now I wear PJ's more, but I honestly see nothing wrong with housecoats.

I only ever wore them when I was about six LOL but then I live in a very warm climate and have no need for them.
