yeah but I dunno, elves always seemed so... ascetic to me I guess. Hobbits are merry-makers. Being extremely short already I always kind of saw myself as being kinda hobbit-like anyway :P Maybe I'd start a whirlwind romance with an elf or something.

Yea, I do think being a Hobbit would probably be delightful, and I'm short already as well so it wouldn't be too much different. I'd just get a kickass hobbit hole.
