I'll start using AO3 as soon as there's a way to search for X-Men fic that excludes everything tagged XMFC. (And yes, I've already tried searching with - in front of the XMFC tag. Doesn't work.)

Their search system sucks.

Did you put the XMFC tag in quotation marks? As far as I can see it's working for me.

Edit: I went on the "X-Men - All Media Types" tags and then excluded the XMFC tag in the "Search within results" field. But it should work within the movie or comics tag just as well.
