DA

Short answer is that many white, male, wealthy Republicans, who happen to make up most of Congress, are angry that a black man is in a position of power. They are afraid of being treated the way they have historically treated others. They also don't value the lives of the poor.

I would love, love, love to say this is an oversimplification of the Republican party's stance but... When elected officials (from the same party that insisted you could dislike Bush all you wanted but should never disrespect the decisions he made while in office) tell the President of the United States to sit down and shut up, shout out that he is a liar while he is making an official speech, compare him to Hitler and Chavez, claim he is a more serious threat to America than Al-Qaeda, continually question his citizenship, smear his character at every measly chance, and repeatedly accuse him of being friends with gangsters, thugs, and terrorists in plain view of the press with no hint of shame? I don't see what other conclusion you can come to.

ayrt - I was trying to come up with a more unbiased way of saying it and I know that not all republicans think that way. I'm sure it's possible that there a few people out there who have valid reasons for disagreeing with affordable care and can make a solid argument. I'm definitely not one of those people who think that everyone who disagrees with Obama is racist. But yeah, these ARE things that are going on and we shouldn't pretend they don't exist.

I'd say it's pretty spot on. Though, I do remember when tumblr was exploding with "OMG OBAMA WON WHITES ARE GOING TO RIOT IN THE STREETS AND KILL ALL THE MINORITIES THEY SEE STAY INDOORS", and no one rioted. So, maybe it's a little yes and a little no.

Rich white people don't riot. They pay people to convince poor people to do it for them.

Really? That sounds kind of like the Clinton years

Yeah well all I cared about in the Clinton years was pogs and tweetie bird t-shirts from walmart. *spits fruit stripe gum*
