Dude, he's considered the greatest hero ever portrayed in film, ahead of Superman. I usually hate when people say "why is this a secret", but damn, WHY IS THIS A SECRET?

Me too OP, me too... I don't even find Gregory Peck all that attractive but once he puts the glasses on and plays the character? Hot damn, perfect husband material.

He's a single dad! He's a great shot but doesn't brag about it! Plus yeah. Noble and smart as hell. Atticus Finch: the original hot dad <3

Atticus is one of my favorite literary characters. I imagine many people feel that way.

As for finding him hot... Gregory Peck was gorgeous. As Atticus with the glasses and the suit and the goodness? Uh, yea, he was hot. Insanely hot.

Yeah... the source of my glasses fetish.

In a roundabout way, this role gave me a bit of a crush on Gregory Peck. Because... Ace Attorney fan.

Miles Edgeworth's dad looks like him, and when they translated the game they named him Gregory as homage.

So now every time I see Gregory Peck as ANYONE, I think of that other fictional attorney, even if that fictional attorney was loosely inspired by Atticus Finch, and Gregory Peck in other roles may look not much at all like he did as Atticus Finch.

...It's really kind of bizarre.

I've only read the book but I have an honest question to ask.

There are people who don't have a crush on him? (Mostly I just want to make cookies with him but yeah.)

Atticus Finch was pretty much my first positive male role model. You have good taste.

I have to agree with...well, most of the comments. Utterly crushworthy.

I was a bit wary of watching the adaptation, but I think I'll give it a go now. Atticus is totally the most awesome character ever. I wish I had a father like him :/

Atticus Finch is the most perfect man in all of fiction.

When I very very VERY briefly stalked ontd_p they were talking about how much they hated this book and Atticus for being a white figure against racism.

made me love him more.

That's great, if you're into the most contrived, calculated, paragons-of-virtue Gary Stu types imaginable.

Abuse victims and people of color are reduced to vehicles displaying one white man's epic man pain and white savior purity.

But Gregory Peck is hot. And Atticus Finch is teh awesum. So who gives a shit that that book is insulting to anyone who isn't white?
