Re: How Bad is the Sequel to Mulan?

It's okay, but it's extremely Americanized. Remember in the first movie, how there was a token attempt to respect Chinese culture? No more of that. The main plotline is that there are three princesses who are headed off to arranged marriages, and Mulan is OMG SO AGAINST ARRANGED MARRIAGES. The movie chooses to ignore all of Mulan's characterization from the first movie, and the fact that she was visiting a matchmaker so she could have a respectable marriage to honor her family. Which is what the princesses are doing.

It's kind of stupid, but I think I might be one of the few people who actually liked the songs, so my point of view might not be the norm.
