500 Days of Summer. I can't count how many guys and girls I've seen misinterpret that entire movie and actually see it as romantic. And blame Summer for not staying with Tom, see Tom as the ideal guy, see the relationship as ideal, or relate to Tom. It's almost like, did we watch the same movie?

Yeah this is ridiculous because they get the exact opposite of intended message. People see that ending like, "oh yay! He finally found The One!" but the film makes it obvious that it's supposed to mean that Tom learned nothing. That he was going to make the exact same mistakes. That's why the little counter started at Day 1 again. It was just another cycle.

oh my god thank you I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE

the amount of people who seem to think that Tom was a really great guy and it's such a romantic film and Summer is so quirky and just UGH.

it's one of my favourite films because it subverts all of that stuff
