I unironically love Wrecking Ball too. Eep. But honestly, I've liked almost all of Miley's music - she makes fun pop records! And even before I listened to the lyrics or heard (and agreed with) the criticism of Blurred Lines, I thought it was an AWFUL song. (In the realm of Popular Songs That I Can't Stand, that and Get Lucky both make me instantly change the channel.) It would still be fuckin dreadful music, even if the lyrics were totally inoffensive.

I've enjoyed more Miley songs than not. I just bought Bangerz and am enjoying it quite a bit so far.

I really like the song too. I'm not a music person and don't hang in those types of circles so had no idea it was being hated so much. I dunno, it's not record breaking but it's a good song. And I think it's perfectly fine to like and defend a song you enjoy without being a 'stan'.
