This reminds me of how I (a watcher from day one, but never into it enough to be in fandom) was talking to my friend (latecomer who is now really really into the show) about Supernatural, and her complete shock when I mentioned that the show does have male viewers. Because, well, action, scariness, tough dudes with guns, pretty girls, etc. It's pretty much made for them.

The thought had literally never occurred to her.

Haha, I remember when I first started watching, I was like "wow, this sure is the manliest show to ever manly, or at least it's trying to be". Then I got on the internet and discovered most of the fans were female, and I laughed and laughed. I suspect when the showed premiered, they were after the ever-so-precious 18-34 male demographic, and it...didn't work out as planned. But hey, after nine seasons, who gives a fuck who's paying the bills?

Ha, I don't watch the show, but my younger brother does, and he says the only other fans are "gay men and teenage girls." But he still loves the show a LOT, even though he feels like the only guy like him. :) Far as I know he's not into anything fandomy for it except maybe pumpkin carving w/ SPN references for Halloween (like the license plate).
