I guess that part of the fanbase wasn't paying attention when they had Godstiel rampage through the campaign office of "Senator Michelle Walker" for being sanctimonious hypocritical and generally awful.

HA, this. What was the line? Speaking as god: 'I am utterly indifferent to sexual orientation'.

Please tell me what episode this was in so I can torrent it immediately. As a constituent of "Senator Michelle Walker", or the person I presume she was based on, watching this on endless repeat may save me years of expensive therapy.

And, his first act as God was to kill a preacher for hypocrisy regarding sexual orientation.

Apparently they also missed the "President Palin Defends Bombing Houston" headline in the episode where Dean went to the future.

Yep, smack in the middle of the generally unpopular Gamble era. You'll notice that she and her alleged behind-the-scenes struggle to raise the consciousness of the creative team are no longer with the show, and the ratings have gone up since Carver took over.

The Palin crack was in Season 5.

What makes you think Palin supporters didn't assume that if she bombed Houston she must've had a damn good reason?

(Anonymous) 2013-10-17 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
It came across to me as very clearly connecting a Palin presidency to complete catastrophe.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-17 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Well sure, we see it that way, because to us a Palin Presidency WOULD be a complete catastrophe, Apocalypse or no Apocalypse. If on the other hand the headline had said President Biden bombed Chicago, would your reaction have been "What a horrible President, he brought the country to ruin!" or "My god, how dire must the situation be that he was forced to employ such extreme measures?"

NA

If we're discussing the intent of the writers, you seriously think a bunch of career screenwriters living in LA meant it that way??
