WtNV fanfic?
(Anonymous) 2013-10-17 01:02 am (UTC)(link)My fics are mostly a medium to inflict Night Vale's unique pain mostly onto Cecil, because what isn't awesome about inflicting canon-supported horrible pain onto major characters. But from casting a look over the fandom contributions, I'm sort of a huge deviation.
Is there any kind of crowd for this stuff? Should I just not bother contributing to the community? I dunno, I guess I'm kind of a sissy. I'd rather enjoy my own writing than get emotionally crushed about being ignored for putting myself out there. :(

Basically, my own made up back story for "A Story About You", where Cecil knows what he knows because he went through a possesion/projection ritual, and then live aired it on the radio.

It was great! If you have more you should def post them to A03; I think fandom would welcome something like this, it's really intriguing. I didn't give too much thought to the back story of "A Story About You", but I like this and could imagine it happening. The bits at the end about Cecil...ah (don't want to spoil anyone who hasn't read it yet), you know, were fantastic. (And in light of events in recent episodes, make me wonder.)
But yea, I say go for it!

And I think a reading would be a WONDERFUL idea. Not sure how many people are interested in podfic, but I know if I enjoy a story and there's an audio version available I immediately download it. It's a great alternative and since WTNV is an audio medium, a fitting one.

I do have one new fic in the pipes right now-- another fairly short, contained one, and maybe it'll turn into a full fic. This whole experience has encouraged me immensely, thank you.
