I feel you, OP. Accepting that a slash ship isn't actually canon doesn't have to change what's going on in your fandom spaces.

But that still does not undo The Gay that is Merlin/Arthur. They have a borderline homoromantic relationship and that's OK. Doesn't need to be any dick involved for that. My best friend and I have one and we're still simply friends. The writers of 'Merlin' are notorious for the queerbaiting, but even aside from that have said that the two love each other deeply. Doesn't mean they have to fuck. It just means they love each other deeply. (Though truth be told, the fact that the writers had to turn Gwen into a female version of Merlin in order to build their Arthur/Gwen storyline is telling. Both about the nature of the relationship they'd written for Merlin and Arthur up until that point and about their writing skills >.<)

A homoromantic love for a friend doesn't change the friendship or make it somehow 'less than.' I see Sherlock/John as seriously homoromantic (it's one-sided canon anyway) but I don't have any desire to see them shag or even kiss. I won't lie if I didn't say the thought of Destiel sexytimes didn't turn my crank but honestly? The UST feeds my soul in that particular ship LOL

I actually have no idea if you are saying you like this ship or don't. :P LOL

Not trying to be a jerk, just trying to make sense of the multiple negatives in this sentence ;)

I got excited by the Destiel. I definitely ship it hard in a serious ManPain way lol

SA

Me too :)

It's an incredibly painful ship... especially for Cas :/ lol

But then, I have a serious thing for power imbalances and unrequited feelings :P

All of my favorite slash ships are of the Epic ManPain variety but no one does it like Destiel. And it is glorious.
