I completely agree, but what I find funny is that Sirius and Remus weren't even THAT close. Out of the Marauders they were the ones who got along the least. It still amazes me that the fandom didn't jump on Sirius/James considering by everyone's account they were basically emotionally codependent and attached at the hip. I think it was completely platonic but the way people do tend to jump on any close friendship to ship it, you'd think THAT would've been the one people latched onto.

Sirius/James has the fault that one half is dead.

If you have a dead character, or one that ends up dead along the way, shipping for them drops considerably because most fans get sad and think about the death.
