Especially when Spock and Uhuru have about as much exiting chemistry as pH7.

Make that "Uhura" and "exciting"

THANK YOU. I could maybe see this pairing if it involved actors with better onscreen chemistry, but as it is now? I'm not feeling it.

Oh snap.

THIS

I like Spock. I like Uhura. I could even see them having a little pre/early TOS flirtation going on, but they're boring as hell together in the reboot movies.

I do ship reboot Spock/Uhura, but I freely admit Nimoy and Nichols had better chemistry. The TOS scene where Spock is playing his lyre and Uhura is singing is definitely at least mildly flirty* - come to think of it, the films have never shown us that they have interests in common outside work, which is not helpful in terms of selling the relationship. In fact, I have a feeling I buy the ship in the reboot because I can see potential (even if it never actually came to anything) in TOS.

*Can't remember which episode, sorry.

Ug, Spock/Uhura. Doesn't fit the TOS canon, doesn't suit the actors. Of course, Tumblr thinks you're racist if you don't ship it, even if that's because you're busy shipping Kirk/Uhura.

Whoo, Kirk/Uhura! *high fives*

I'm still just skeeved out that Spock was dating his student. I mean, okay, if they started dating after, but dating your student while they're your student is just squicky to me. Especially when the first time we learn about it is when it's causing issues due to Spock letting it affect his decision on her placement (yeah, real logical thinking there, Spock!).

Yup. I wouldn't call it skeeved because I'm usually too confused by the very idea. It makes no sense for him.

ngl I think they're hot and their chemistry is just fine
I can buy their romance more than most of the romances from this genre of movies tbh (especially the ones from star wars eww)

the key words are "personal" and "opinion"
