Most peoeple I know that talk about it are referring to this journal entry http://peri-peteia.livejournal.com/340736.html and, she kind of has a point? I mean, yeah, you're in an interracial relationship, but you don't actually speak for everyone, you know?

On one hand, yeah - she does. On the other? There are plenty of valid reasons not to ship any of the pairings shown that have nothing to do with racism. What I've mostly seen people claiming that is what the OP said - as soon as you say you don't ship the pairing *bam* you're automatically assumed to be racist.

So yeah. While it's true it'd be nice to see all women included as possible love interests [or, hell, just main characters] more often, that's rarely what people are thinking about when they start claiming a non-shipper is racist.

Where was the OP claiming to speak for everyone? It shouldn't be controversial to suggest that not everyone who fails to ship those pairings is a racist.

There's been an interesting post on tumblr as late about Katrina and the OP is defending her liek whoa while "nicely" bashing Ichabbie.

And there's been some major points about how the PoC/WoC is usually the friend in most relationships cause...ew interracial pairings. IF we get a show that actually does a full on romance between an interracial pair, it'll actually be something different and kind of new, ESPECIALLY with a lead like Abbie.

But everyone has their points. I don't think any one opinion regards all of this wrong, unless there's IS flat out character bashing/racist bullshit/what have you in the process.

I'm white so I don't really know what it means to be a black woman so that post really opened my eyes.
intersectionality is a thing worth to talk about but sometimes we all just think about everything from our own perspective only without thinking that something that is a stereotype for us might be the opposite for others, things we take for granted that for others might be big steps forward instead.
