You don't have to ship something to support the idea of a possible interracial relationship. This is what fandom does not get.

Not shipping a pairing =/= bashing or against the concept itself, or denying there is a possibility.

You like what you like, that's your own personal business, no one else's.

This. I ship Spock/Uhura but I don't ship Sherlock/Joan. It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with just preferring them as friends rather than as a romantic pairing.

Seeing Spock/Uhura was one of the most awesome treats seeing Star Trek. It just kind of clicked into place from all my years of watching old reruns of TOS. I just love it.

The other two pairs I don't know. I like the possibility of them being pairings, but if I were to watch the shows, their personalities just may not click for me, or I like them better as friends. But certainly the idea they could be together is a good one, as they do look good together in the pics I've seen of them.

I wasn't expecting Spock/Uhura, but I liked the way it worked out and I think they're really cute together, so it totally works for me.

I haven't seen Sleepy Hollow yet so I can't judge on that one. With Elementary, I like the way they play off each other in the show just the way it is. I don't feel any desire to add a romantic element to it because I think it's perfect the way it's written. It's honestly just as simple as that for me.

I can't imagine Sherlock/Joan turning out well for either of them, mostly because he can't seem to deliver anything positive without immediately undermining it with an insult.

I'm also not feeling Abbie/Ichabod, and I'm generally meh on nuTrek.

Yeah, that's a definite reason why I don't ship them. I love their interactions, but I don't think they'd work well in a romance. I like the back-and-forth they have going on a platonic level.

It's possible to be good friends with a chronic asshat like Sherlock, but I'm convinced that it's almost impossible to be friendly exes with a chronic asshat like Sherlock.

Haha, that's a good way of putting it!
