They are each other's Only Ally in defense of the world against weirdness, they bicker with each other comfortably, and he looks at her with hooded eyes like "You fascinating and lovely creature, it's a pleasure to watch you work." Also she's kick-ass and he's respectful. I'm not a crazy shipper, but I can see why some people might be. :D

Yes, but they have zero sexual/romantic chemistry? While they ARE great best friends. I'm just so happy about a show with a male lead and a female lead who are friends and not each other's love interests, I thought other people would be happy about that, too, instead of ignoring his One True Love sort-of-dead wife and shipping him with his BFF.
