But what? Do you really think you can extrapolate on how a person views minorities in RL based on fandom shipping preferences? What on earth does it matter what someone ships in fandom anyway? It's FANDOM. It's just a hobby. (Or that's how I see it, anyway)

It doesn't necessarily matter. As I said above, it would just make me wonder, not be enough for me to declare someone sexist or racist and avoid them entirely.

However, yes, I do think someone's views regarding fandom can carry over to their RL views. Hobbies are an indicator of our mind-sets, our personalities. I would think that if you were told about six people whose hobbies were marathon running, golf, watching Nascar, acting in community productions, hunting, and reading/writing poetry, that you would have an idea of their personalities just based off their hobbies alone. It may or may not be an accurate indicator of their personality, but it would give you an idea. Just as I wouldn't know that someone with only white guy/white guy ships has issues with women or PoC, but it would give me an idea about it and I would wonder.
