What in fandom interests me: Discussion-- including with people who disagree with me. Meta, squee, fic. Narrative kinks and genre, fandom treated as a fandom in itself, the many different ways we can read a text or understand a show. Intensely dysfunctional or damaging relationships, femslash (and gen and het and slash), worldbuilding.
What in fandom does NOT interest me: People who don't act in good faith or can't assume the same for others; along similar lines, the idea that there is only one valid interpretation and all others lead to hell. Also celebrity culture and some huge fandoms and popular tropes, but I have an easy relationship with my scroll bar. :D
Major non-fandom interests: Fandom is totally a mindset. Mathematics, economics, languages & linguistics, modern China, poetry, historical tidbits
My LJ/DW contains or will contain: Primarily fannish things (media reactions, casual commentary, now and then a ramble of meta) and fic, the occasional snippet of real life; lots of semicolons, dubious em dashes, and asyndeton

Asriel/Marisa were one of my first ships-- fellow heretics and mad scientists jumping together for the cause, oh yes-- I loved how passionately they felt about each other and how nonetheless their ambitions and competence meant more to them than romance. I also adore Lyra (and had my heart broken by her separation from Will) and Serafina and the ontological arguments implied in Dust and the darker streaks of the Magisterium. Which is to say yes, please! I'm always happy to find more people who still care about the series as more than a tag for daemon AUs, although I like those too.
