ugh this arc :c i really appreciate how they very clearly showed how this was Chiana's reaction to D'Argo going full-tilt on the commitment train and her being terrified of it. it all still hurt though :c

Yeah. I have a huge infidelity squick, but what Chiana did managed not to make me hate her for it because it wasn't just the usual not-caring-about-her-partner thing that infidelity in fiction usually is -- it was her actively trying to sabotage her relationship because she was afraid and D'Argo wasn't hearing her. It was just a mess and really sad all around. :(

Cheating in fiction usually bothers me because it's used simply to show that the character is either an unfeeling jerk or doesn't know how to tactfully end a relationship (or both!).
In Farscape, though, we were dealing with fully developed characters who had complex and realistic reasons for their actions (even if they're wrong), so it didn't bother me.

This is because Farscape, unlike most shows, is pretty great.
