Playing Animal Crossing and finding a Barenaked Ladies CD for cheap is an awesome way to start the day :)

Hope you feel better soon and are able to do some sewing.

Already feeling better than I was, but being amused by online antics now and reluctant to get up. ;) So thanks!

And I've only listened to about half the album now (though I'd already heard several songs from it) but holy crap it's awesome so far. Really wondering why I didn't buy it years ago when I wound up with a copy of "Maybe You Should Drive" and found myself loving it.

*butts in*

Have you heard any of their other CDs? Born on a Pirate Ship is my favorite. c:

Oh yeah - on the strength of "Maybe You Should Drive" I picked up "Stunt" as soon as it came out without having heard a note of it. Although I remember the Sailor Moon fandom was really excited because "One Week" got advance radio play, and OMG IT MENTIONED SAILOR MOON. XD So I'd seen that part of the lyrics to one song before buying... and then the CD didn't leave my player for ages. Now I'm trying to remember which song it was on that album that I figured out on guitar and used to play over and over...

But given how much I liked those two albums, and every other track I've heard from them, I really don't have any excuse for not having the full discography already, except that I very rarely go music shopping anymore because I no longer have a data entry job where I do nothing but type and listen to CDs for 8-16 hours a day. XD Not so urgent to hit up the music stores for the last several years...

Well, as you could probably have guessed, I'd highly recommend getting the rest of their CDs. :P (Well, everything through Barenaked Ladies Are Me, at least; I was only a fan of a few songs on ...Are Men, and didn't much like All in Good Time. Can't speak for Grinning Streak, though.) You can get them cheap used on Amazon! :B

Heh, I tend to just go to the used CD places and browse. Intentional purchases happen only rarely... and I hate shopping online unless I absolutely can't get something locally. Not sure why.

Actually that may be why I have no other BNL albums. People KEEP their BNL albums. I got pretty much my entire Sonic Youth collection used, on the other hand, because they're a band people buy albums from because they have a reputation for being cool in an indie, underground sort of way that will make people seem cooler for being fans. And then people listen to the actual albums and go "...WTF is this?" and ditch them. XD There's never NOT used Sonic Youth at the CD places... I have only very rarely seen BNL used, and only the two albums I've already had for ages. Until today!

I am only a sometimes fan of BNL, but I heard Odds Are in Starbucks last week and am so in love with it that it's not even funny. And most of the mall handful of "Christmas songs I will listen to at any time of the year" are off their holiday album.
