Me too! I'd heard of 12 yrs a slave, but thought the Steve McQueen they were talking about with regard to it was #1 b/c that's the only one I'd ever heard of. Thank you. Now I know my Steves.

I do wonder now how many people are confused, though, at least here in the US. He probably doesn't have that problem in Britain where #1 might not have been as famous as he was here.

I'm from the UK and I'm far more aware of Steve McQueen (the actor) than I am Steve McQueen (the director). SFAIK, the actor was really well known over here.
