For some reason, Holmes' "I would've totally made for a really accomplished criminal" comment in that story always struck me as a tad ominous. Are you covering up for him, Watson? *side-eyes*

Actually, I think I once read an AU fic where Holmes never met Watson and without his influence eventually became a serial criminal baiting the police with impossibly opaque crimes out of sheer boredom.
