Oh MAN the ones where they tell you their preferences. "I think the pairing is unnecessary, but your fic was okay anyway" and "It would have been better if X was shipped with Y instead of Z"... SO YOU WRITE THAT FIC THAT YOU WOULD LIKE BETTER THAN MINE, THEN. For crying out loud.

And then there was the time when for months, every single story I posted there got the same review from the same person, which was like "This is not a review for [name of story], this is a request that you continue [name of other story I posted months ago] and tell what happened next!" Even though the other story was FINISHED, the person leaving the review was apparently just too obtuse to discern that the way it ended was THERE WAS NO WAY OUT AND EVERYONE DIED.

ff.net reviews are largely terrible. :P I have gotten a few along those lines on AO3 too, but not nearly so many, and I'm honestly happy with kudos because they mean that people DON'T leave utterly useless comments if they don't have something useful to say. (Which is perfectly fine. I know I rarely have anything useful to say either.)
