The whole concept of virginity is really stupid to me. It's also super heterocentric... ask anyone, and most will define losing it as being penetrative vaginal sex; must be with a real penis, no toys. But then about about two men? They might say "oh well, butt-sex counts". But what about two women? Does it not count unless there's a dick involved?

And then what about rape victims and rapists who had never had sex before the rape? Does THAT count as losing it? Would it count more than two women going down on each other?

There's basically no such thing as virginity because sex is not ONE act, it's a whole spectrum of acts and you can have had lots of sex without ever getting penetrated.

Actually, most people don't define virginity as PiV sex where hymen "breaks" anymore. Hell I didn't even know that definition existed until I was in high school.

But yes, there is such a thing as virginity. It's a concept created by the human mind, instilled in society, affecting the way people think and act. If there were no such thing as virginity, this thread would not exist.

If it's heterocentric then why give a damn if you're not hetero? It has a meaning in the context of straight sex , which doesn't necessarily apply in the context of other sexual relationships. PiV sex is always going to have a distinction amongst straight sex acts because of the reproductive associations (though this doesn't negate the fact that a lot of straight women prefer other kinds of sexual activities).
