I actually thought this was a FF character until I read the secret.

Literally thought that was what that was until I read it.

actually uh final fantasy characters have been based on him so its the other way around

There are rumours that both Squall and Cloud were inspired by him, but the one who actually is Gackt's self insert in the Franchise is Genesis in Final Fantay VII Crisis Core. It's an unnecessary Gary Stu character who is both modeled after and voiced by Gackt.

Fascinating. I really do need to get around to playing Crisis Core, now that I have a PSP. It's on the PSP, right?

Yes, it is. It's not a bad game, just the Gackt character is incredibly annoying.

An unnecessary annoying Gary Stu character. I cannot emphasize enough how annoying Genesis is.

I was wondering which Final Fantasy character that hairstyle reminded me of the most, but then I got it: It does look a lot like a chocobo's tailfeathers.

I know what you mean; I don't really like half of the JPop songs that apparently fans are supposed to universally adore. It's kind of a weird position to be in, when people are going "oh, this song is so perfect" and you're like "ehhh....."

It's seriously overrated...he has many other songs that are much better.

While I don't necessarily mind his music, I can't listen to Gackt for more than a song because I find his vibrato very unpleasant to listen to. But other than that, Vanilla really isn't one of his best songs imo.

Although on a second look, he does look a lot like Cloud from FFVII, only more girly.

i don't think most people like vanilla because they find it to be a musical masterwork or anything. it's a fun song.

most of his crap is crap anyway and is only good for laughs/nostalgia purposes.

Haven't listened to much of his stuff, but I much prefer the live version of "Vanilla" to the official vid.

That's seriously blasphemous? I know that the fans hold it fondly in their hearts (mostly because of the live version, let's be real here), but it's a dumb lulzy pop song that's outshone by most of the rest of his catalog quality-wise.

It's not his best song, but damn if it's not a fun one 8D

It's not a good song, doesn't mean it can't be catchy and nostalgic as fuq :D

Vanilla isn't my most favorite song of his by far, but it was one of the first I ever heard, so it holds a special place in my heart.

My favorite is still "saikai ~story~" along with "emu ~for my dear~", if I HAD to choose one.

lmao it might be bad but it's still one of the most famous -and damn catchy- songs and I love it. It also has emotional value to me since it was the second song after Gackt's Illness Illusion that got me to the culture and from there to where I am now XDDD it really takes it that far! Maybe not because of the song but it played a big part of it.

I honestly love Vanilla, but let's be real, it's basically one giant masturbatory fantsy where he tells the public to fuck him. Taking it seriously enough that someone saying they don't like it is blasphemous sounds kinda hilarious.
