Re: It is not society's job to raise your kids, people

I don't have kids and in fact don't like children at all. But I wouldn't have mentioned the school shooting in front of a kid. The kid will hear about it, as they hear about all the others, and it's better for the kids if they don't hear it from people other than their parents/guardians/teachers. Kids are living in fear in school these days and how they hear about yet more school violence can have an exponential impact on that fear.
