I have no experience with lifts, but I'm curious as to why the story needs the character to be taller when out as a man? (No judgement, just honestly curious.)

I suppose it's not necessary, but she's pretty short and he's average height, and I'd just like to even them out a little bit in a way that can provide more story instead of an author's note.
