There are people who think Ray Bradbury is the writer of any generation?

...Huh. Man this world sure takes all kinds.

Yeah, it was constantly mentioned when he would have a panel at Comic Con every year.

That's advertising!speak, though. In ad!speak, a five-bladed razor is AN EARTH-SHATTERING INNOVATION over a four-bladed razor. COME, SEE THIS PANEL BY BY THIS GUY WHO WROTE THAT BOOK YOU HAD TO READ IN HIGH SCHOOL. THIS PANEL IS IMPORTANT. IT IS WORTH YOUR TIME TO BE AT THIS PANEL.

Is there anyone who calls him that outside of ad!speak? Because shit man, he was from the same generation as Asimov. The writer? Nooooooooooooooo.

This is true. Um... the announcer also said it? But you could say that was also ad!speak. I've never heard it outside Comic Con.

I'm not actually all that much of a Bradbury fan, and I think the people who are calling him misogynist have a point, but he was definitely a much better writer than Asimov. Asimov's great fun, and he has some memorable big ideas, but he's kind of... cardboardy. Whereas even though I don't like Bradbury all that much, his stories have lingered with me in a way that Asimov's just haven't. YMMV, of course, but I don't think it's intrinsically ridiculous to call Bradbury a better writer.

On the other hand, Asimov probably had more influence on the development of the genre. Bradbury's kind of an outlier in genre terms, and he certainly didn't write hard SF.
