I've been meh on pretty much any remotely serious anime I've watched in the last ten-ish years, except Get Backers and Tiger & Bunny. Both have an excellent mix of silly mixed with touching and occasional "OMG DDDDDD:", and casts where I just love everyone because every single person, even the most unlikely (ESPECIALLY the most unlikely), is a gigantic dork once you get to know them. And there's just all kinds of chemistry among the cast, and I don't mean in a romantic way - it's just like, everyone is one big dysfunctional family; even when they're fighting with each other as shonen stuff tends to go, there's still a connection.

For comedy, Azumanga Daioh and Cromartie High have literally made me laugh until I could not breathe, and I haven't even seen all of them yet, just a few episodes.
