It seems super lazy and unimaginative to me.
If someone in Night Vale is inhuman then it'll either be hilariously obvious or totally understated. Like either Cecil is a sentient colony of bees or he really never sleeps and assumes no one does either. The Cassette was so very creepy because of how totally normal Cecil was and how totally normal he seems to still be.
Oogly boogly Halloween ideas of eyes, tentacles and ooze are just boring and off tone for the whole Night Vale canon.
