well that's exactly it. the shitty behavior and socially awkward bullshit SHOULD NOT be blown off with "I have Asperger's so I can't help it"... it has nothing to do with it. but so many people USE IT like that. that's my point. i hate seeing some one say "this guy is an asshole" in a situation and have that guy say "you're not allowed to say it to me, i can't help it, i'm autistic" - no, bullshit. autism is not a personality.

It doesn't excuse it, no, but it makes it more understandable why they're doing it.

It makes it more understandable, yes. But that doesn't mean they aren't assholes. e.g. Phineas Gage had severe brain injury but that doesn't mean he wasn't a complete and utter asshole to be around after his accident.
