I don't hate this ship in principle. People can ship what they like and I get that there are some aspects of it that would appeal to some people.

But the fact that it's THE most popular pairing and I see it absolutely everywhere is so baffling to me I've come to really, really dislike it.

I mean what? What the everloving fuck happened? The only explanation I can think of is it become a bit more popular than expected, and then people started shipping it based on the fanwork and it all got out of control from there.

Agree so much. It would be one thing if it was just some niche pairing but the fact that it's the most popular one is really baffling.

That is exactlyyy how I feel. People can ship whatever they want - heck, I've even shipped characters that have never interacted with each other in canon- but it drives me crazy that this pairing makes up a good 75% of the entire fandom. Maybe even more. I honestly feel like I can't find a fic for one of the rarer pairings I like, without also having Levi/Eren as the other pairing in the fic. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY.
