See, while I totally understand why people hate winter, I love it for those exact same reasons. I enjoy cold weather, I enjoy gloomy days (especially the kind with sunlight peeking through the clouds -- I only really like sunless days if the weather's in the 50s or 60s), I like dressing warm, I love a little bit of snow (that's all we really get anyway) and I enjoy the busy thing, because it leaves me to focus on things I have to get done without a lot of distraction (plus I get out of the house more.)

Summer, though? Fuck summer. Summer is the worst. No redeeming value. You know how some people get Seasonal Affective Disorder? I feel like I have the summer variant, which is agitation, irritability, sleeping less, increased sex drive, so on and so forth. But I don't call it Summer SAD. I call it MAD: Motherfuckers All Dyin'.

I prefer spring and fall to either of those btw.

AYRT

Curious where you live? Because ugh I live up northern Maine up near Canada and winter is not just gloomy days, it is literally lack of sunlight. The nights are so fucking long and whatever "daytime" we get is always gray and cloudy, so you never see the sun.

I do love dressing warm and bundling up, though. And I love snow. One of my all time favorite things to do is take walks in the woods/fields either during or right after a snowstorm. It's the most peaceful beautiful experience.

And Summer is cool here mostly because it doesn't actually get hot. It's rare to get 90s most years. I spent a summer in the midwest once and reacted pretty much like you said. It was sticky and hot and made me cranky and miserable the whole time. I hated it.

If I could live somewhere that had long Springs and Falls and maybe like two months of snowy winter and a mild sunny Summer - that would be my perfect land. I don't think it exists though.

Southwest Ohio. We used to have snow before Halloween -- actually we did in some spots this year. First time that's happened in 20 years to my memory, even if it melted.

We live in a river valley and we're technically in the Southern US climate zone, so we get the worst summers. I'm from Michigan. I shouldn't have to put up with this shit.
