I live in the US and it really differs from region to region. I'd say in regards to the South, the weird food I have eaten. Like raccoon stew and snapper turtle soup.

Not like cat. :P But for real, they leave a paw on the raccoon so you know they are not cooking cat. It don't taste bad though.

I love fried alligator from the South and taylor ham from New Jersey. Nothing like a taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a hard roll to cure a hangover.
