Really dude? You might see a show where a male and a female are hated by the same amount of people but check into WHY they're hated. A man might be hated because he's cruel, he's vicious, he's evil, he's manipulative, etc. A female character is hated... because "she's a slut, whore, bitch, cunt, ugly, fat, skank, annoying, useless, whiny, cries too much, puts out too much, puts out with the wrong people"... sometimes it's not about hate it's about WHY they're hated. And female characters are hated for some really stupid and unfair reasons, reasons that are celebrated in a male character. If a female character is hated for those things I listed for the male (cruel, evil, manipulative) THAT makes more sense and is fine. It means the writing is giving her actual characterization. But usually it's just... she's female in the "wrong" ways and fans hate her for it.
