I'm thinking his absolute brattiness is kind of the thing that points to him being in his teens, but Inuyasha's age has always baffled me a bit. Did he grow more slowly? Was he trapped in stasis more than once, so that his years don't match his physical age? I kind of feel like if Inuyasha had 200 years behind him he'd be at least a little more mature.

That's because he doesn't. It's some weird thing the third movie added in.

I thought that too, but the manga does have scenes with his mother (really really early on), and apparently the way she's dressed predates the Feudal Era by a couple hundred years? That's what I've heard, anyway.

I've seen that argument before, but RT's clothing is inaccurate for the time period all over the place, often off by centuries. For example Hakudoushi's outfit is Heian, Sango's hair and clothing is off by a couple centuries or so, and there are multiple other bit part characters who wear similar kimono to Inuyasha's mother. So yeah, telling the time period by clothing is... impossible in this specific series.

Oh, awesome. I always hated the 200 year old theory.
