the "age" makes way more sense once you realize that rumiko takahashi's style in the manga made everyone look like teenagers

like, sometimes sesshoumaru looked younger than inuyasha

the problem with only knowing how to draw like five faces i guess

I'm thinking his absolute brattiness is kind of the thing that points to him being in his teens, but Inuyasha's age has always baffled me a bit. Did he grow more slowly? Was he trapped in stasis more than once, so that his years don't match his physical age? I kind of feel like if Inuyasha had 200 years behind him he'd be at least a little more mature.

I hate the anime so much for implying otherwise. Well not entirely true. I disliked the anime long before that.

To be honest though I do think he definitely looks fifteen-ish. Very childlike face. But people in fandom have crushes on teenage anime boys all the time, so I don't really think it's that big a deal if you do have one.

Huh. I thought he was only in his 50s or 60s, what with only spending a few decades in stasis pinned to the damn tree. I guess he just has an absurdly long life span thanks to his half-demon heritage? Either way, in terms of personality and appearance he's always pinged on my radar as a bratty-ass teenage boy. In fact, saying that he's 15 or 16 is a major stretch for me, if I didn't know his background I'd peg him for 13 or 14 easily.

(And no I'm the same. Without knowledge of the way his backstory stunted his emotional growth, I'd totally peg him as younger.)

I thought he was a teenager, and was put into stasis by the magical arrow. I'd really hate to think he's immortal, since Kagome left the present to go marry him in the past lol

Isn't that an anime thing? Everybody looks like they're in the 15-35 age range, unless they're specifically drawn to look older/younger.

Wow...that was me when I was 14-15....

Then I wised up to his almost non-existent character growth (where i stopped reading...Inuyasha kept up with that annoying habit of professing that he would never leave Kagome and what not and then...lo and behold, the spirit thingies of Kikyou's show up and he's gone) and went for the brother, who had, comparatively at the time, buckets of it due to Rin.

And then I ended up crushing on Sesshy which ended in me shipping SessKag

I still do, even though I haven't touched that manga series since high school.

Inuyasha! This takes me back to high school.

I think he looks fifteen/sixteen. Eighteen tops. The white hair might make him look a bit older, but he has a round youthful face and big eyes. (I've noticed in anime, big male eyes equate younger age, and thinner shows older age.)

That's what fantasies are for, OP!

I dunno if he was supposed to 'look' like he was 15 more than he ACTED like he was 15. Like, damn son. You've been around the block a few times, act like it.

Looking back on my particularly heavy involvement in InuYasha fandom, I now wonder why none of us ever went "Well if it took him 200 years to act like a teenager, why do we think it's suddenly going to change when he gets with Kagome? She'll be in her 20s, he'll be like... 17, mentally!"

He, Sesshoumaru, their father, and Sesshoumaru's mother are all total babes. That seems to be the case in white-haired demon families (*cough* Devil May Cry *cough*).

I find everyone in anime either looks a lot older than they are or a lot younger then they are. And didn't someone say 15 is the age where you either look 12 or 30?

I could never see him as a 15 year old. 20 something suits him better. There are characters that can look 15 but just not that guy. It's weird. But whatever.
