Though given who else they picked, switching out Hawkeye and Black Widow and putting the Pyms in there instead probably would have been a nice nod to the team, since then the movie would have the five original team members in it.

I hear they may be looking into a Scarlet Witch movie, if the reports from the Mary Sue are to be believed. But, yeah, there might be a kerfuffle with whoever owns X-Men.
True, but the Ant-Man movie is currently being made and I think they're using Hank Pym but am unsure. (And if they aren't using Hank then having two Ant-Mans would be confusing.)
Black Widow is the one with the least strings attached to her character.

They could have just as easily introduced her in Thor as introduced Black Widow in IM2 though, which I'm sure was only done to eventually have her in The Avengers. Though her own movie would have been ideal.
Obviously by the time The Avengers was actually being made, they were locked into using Black Widow. But the decision to use her was still actively made at some point and they could have gone a different direction, if they so desired.
