I really didn't like it as a kid. It was too weird and leaned heavily on B-sci-fi movies, which I had absolutely no experience with, and I didn't know or care who any of the actors were (although I did like the scene with the translator saying "we are your friends" while they slaughtered everyone), and the dog/woman thing freaked me out.

I think that I would enjoy it way more now.

Also, the theme might be one of my favorite things Danny Elfman ever wrote.
