Re: Only Cute Stories Need Apply

I took my seven year old cousin to a family fun day type thing run by the charity I volunteer for, with stalls and games and shows, a few weeks ago. He was a bit overwhelmed by it all and by the number of people there approaching us to talk to me, especially without his big sister there (she was away at a camp for the weekend).

One of my colleagues came over to talk and to try and encourage him to enter a contest she was running, where you had to guess the name of the stuffed animal to win it, but he was having NONE of it. No smiles, no interest, nothing, and we just shrugged it off and went on with our day. He warmed up pretty quickly after that, so I guess he just needed some time to get used to his surroundings.

Anyway, the next day he sent me a text on his mom's phone telling me that he was sorry for being in a bad mood and could I say sorry to the "nice old lady" for him?

I saw her today for the first time since then and she was so touched by that and it just made me very proud of him.
