Horror comedies and parodies, imo, often fail to integrate humor and horror into something both watchable and fun. There's a line between acceptable stupidity and intolerable stupidity in comedy that is both universal and adjusted to one's personal sense of humor.

This!

I find the humor in most horror parodies too mean-spirited, and Mars Attacks is one of those. I just can't laugh at it.


tbh, I can't watch regular horror movies either. No matter how stupid or vile the characters getting killed off are, I still feel sorry for them. It's just no fun for me.
