Only because Denmark actually doesn't have tall mountains. It could be inspired by any other scandinavian/nordic country though.

this reminds me of the Isak Dinesen story (it might be "The Roads Round Pisa") where Count Schimmelhorn gets cornered by this Byronic young man (who is actually a girl) who, when she finds out that the count is Danish, says that she'd love to visit Denmark and see the cliffs described in Hamlet--the part about the "dread summit of the cliff/that beetles o'er his base into the sea." And Schimmelhorn can't bring himself to reveal that Elsinore is quite flat.

Now, it's just unkind to not provide a caption or anything.

Oh sorry Anon, I actually forgot...

It is from Denmark in Bornholm the spot is called Hammerbruddet, and only reason I know about it is because a while ago there was an article in a Norwegian newspaper about the fact that you can actually go rock climbing in Denmark.

Also here is the blog post I shamelessly stole the picture from:

Thank you--it's beautiful!

No problem at all Anon. It actually is, if it was not for my intense fear of heights I would love to go there!
