Two things:

1. I agree. Tbh, the Nightvale fandom is a large part of what soured me towards the series, though the fact it's something I have to be in a very specific mood for in the first place didn't help.

Anyways, yeah. I do agree it's annoying when fandom tends to focus on "OMG! QUEER!" ...and then mostly ignore the rest of what makes up the character.

2. This isn't really directed at what you're saying, so much as *how* you said that last bit but...Yeah. "Even though I'm bi/gay/whatever" doesn't really mean you can't also be homophobic, sadly. So...-shrugs-

I've dropped bi friends who were revolting about lesbians. And you should hear gay men go on about lesbians. And I'm sure many queer women are "eww" about gay men. So yes, definitely can be homophobic.

There's also quite a bit of biphobia from gay men and lesbians. It's a bit heartbreaking to hear any of sort of phobic stuff from fellow LGBT people even when it isn't directed at you in particular.
