Yo, I buy the original Japanese versions of a lotta shit I like that's only available scanlated cause I don't wanna be a leech. I've also considered buying for some European movies (and only didn't do so when the DVDs were unavailable). You don't necessarily have to own something that's produced for region if you want to support the creator(s).

that's nice in theory, but it can often be very expensive to import things from other countries depending on where you live. often international shipping can be exorbitantly expensive, and many countries will charge you customs fees on anything that's imported too. not only that, but exchange rate can affect the prices too.

i ship a lot of stuff to my friend in the uk because she'd get swiped with major customs fees for anything that isn't sent as a gift.
