Also tbh, I'd much rather have a discussion about the Doctor being a man of color. Because like... there hasn't been a recurring POC on the show since 2008.

Another thing that warrants a discussion, imo, is the fact that there has only been one female writer in the New Who era (and only one in the Classic Who era iirc), and I don't think a person of color has EVER written an episode of Doctor Who.

I second that notion.

We had recurring POCs in the latest season, those kids Clara is nannying. Don't see why there has to be a POC anyway. Most of the UK is white. As for the female credit, since DW was created by a woman it is covered already.

The kids didn't really get any story of their own. They were in two episodes and they were just there to be... kids Clara is nannying. They weren't exactly fully formed characters.

And lmao. DW was created by a women, but no women write for the show. That's the point. Let's get some writers other than Moffat's bros. Let's expand the kinds of voices that contribute to the show.

You asked for a recurring POC, they were recurring POCs. Even if they don't live up to your character markings, they were POCs who were named characters, went on an adventure and were instrumental in setting up others. They exist, so don't try and erase them for not living up to your standards.

But according to this thread he'd be transracial and freaked out by his skincolor change. Because if he's already been white for 12 bodies it's pretty obvious he thinks of himself as white.

Race is not the same thing as gender.

No, it's not, because humans have social context attached to skintone and heritage and so on, just like humans have social context attached to genital configuration and hormone levels.

But.
The.
Doctor.
Is.
Not.
Human.

The Doctor had Gallifreyan social context with what the current regeneration looks like and saying it matches human ones is silly.
