Story fic with UST and stoic men internally coming to grips with tender feelings. Dumb romance tropes are nice, but only when characters are also shown to be intelligent and competent adults.

I once read a fic that had all of the above, was almost 100k words long, and ended in a really really good hug. No regrets.
